here are the winners of the 2024 “Villes et Villages Fleuris” competition

A year's work rewarded. This Wednesday November 25 at the Jean-Moulin room in Castelsarrasin, Michel Weillpresident of the Departmental Council of Tarn-et-Garonne, communicated the winners of the competition “Flowery Towns and Villages“.

With the participation of 120 municipalities

To open this ceremony, the Tarn-et-Garonnais elected official clarified that, for this 2024 edition120 communes were in the running to win the precious sesame“before adding”that the thirty members of the jury carried out intensive selection and collaboration work“.

Gardeners, technicians and even volunteers, everyone played a key role in the promotion of their respective municipalities”, recognized Michel Weill.

Several criteria taken into account

Before rendering his verdict, the president of the Departmental Council of Tarn-et-Garonne also took the opportunity to reveal the three major criteria of this competition, namely: the water managementthe preservation of biodiversity and the green waste management.

Trophies designed by a local artist

After thanking all the participating municipalities, Michel Weill unveiled the 2024 winners with four municipalities who won the “Gold Trophy“. Here they are:

  • Municipalities less than or equal to 300 inhabitants : Gold Trophy: Maubec ; Silver Trophy: Saint-Vincent-Lespinasse ; Bronze Trophy: Cars
  • Municipalities of 301 to 1,000 inhabitants : Gold Trophy: Bruniquel ; Silver Trophy: Auvillar ; Bronze Trophy: Saint-Loup
  • Municipalities of 1,001 to 3,000 inhabitants : Gold Trophy: Lauzerte ; Silver Trophy: Montricoux ; Bronze Trophy: Bioule
  • Municipalities of 3,001 to 15,000 inhabitants : Gold Trophy: -d’ ; Silver Trophy: Caussade ; Bronze Trophy: Grisolles

As a reminder, the Department supports municipalities that wish to “offer a pleasant living environment to their inhabitants and visitors“.
