[VIDÉO] “A Minister of Health and her share of surprises”

The Minister of Health and Access to Care, Geneviève Darrieussecq, made the surprise of coming in person to the 36th Day of the National Order of Pharmacists, this November 25. This was not the only surprise during this annual event. This is demonstrated by the few proposals which accompanied the ministerial visit.

Starting with the decree that Geneviève Darrieussecq signed last week. The one extending from one to three months the exceptional delivery of chronic treatments when all renewals have been carried out. This is a provision of the Rist law which was to come into force almost a year after its promulgation in May 2023.

Another rather nice announcement, a new pharmaceutical prescription mission. And not least. That of nicotine substitutes. A mission which we believed for a long time was definitely going to go up in smoke. We remember, a few years earlier, a director general of Health Insurance taking a very dim view of the fact that the dispenser could also be the prescriber. Times have changed, the measurement will begin next spring. First in the form of an experiment – we can also challenge the misconception – before generalization.

Surprised, almost destabilized, the minister was in turn. In question, a simple question from the president of the Order on the financialization of the pharmacy environment. The response, somewhat imprecise, urged pharmacists to “clean up” the profession. This is surely true: in this matter, the environment must also contain some surprises.
