“Be careful, holes forming. » Farmers and tractors came in large numbers this Monday, November 25 in front of the headquarters of the interdepartmental chamber of agriculture of Nord‐Pas de Calais. Ironically, they hijacked a road sign to express their indignation. Because the “holes” in question are not those in the road, but those in the accounts of the institution supposed to protect them.
“We work like madmen to make ends meet, and in the meantime, the room is digging its hole. If our farms had such disastrous management, we would have already disappeared. Where did the 2.2 million euros go? », enrages Samuel Ringard, owner of a dairy farm. The vice‐president of Rural Coordination (CR) in Pas‐de‐Calais points out the forecast deficit for the year 2024 of the interdepartmental chamber of agriculture, information revealed by The Voice of the North et The Chained Duck end of September.
