According to media sources, the Senegalese government will formalize its support for this candidacy during a ceremony chaired this Thursday by Yassine Fall, Minister of African Integration and Foreign Affairs.

After announcing his candidacy, Amadou Hott resigned from his position as special envoy of the AfDB President for the Alliance for Green Infrastructure in Africa (AGIA), in order to focus on his ambition to succeed the outgoing president, the Nigerian Akinwumi Adesina.

Appointed special envoy for AGIA in December 2022, Hott left the Senegalese government after the end of the mandate of former President Macky Sall, continuing his commitment to the development of green infrastructure in Africa.
