In partnership with the Aude Tourism Development Agency, the editorial staff of L'Indépendant went to meet the professionals who make the development of horseback riding an undeniable asset for the tourist attractiveness of the department.
As it has done every two weeks since July, the editorial staff of L'Indépendant explores the riches of the territory in partnership with the Aude Tourist Development Agency. The latter was entrusted by the Department with the development of the new tourism strategy with the ambition of creating a new model which regenerates the territory and which engages positively in ecological transitions. After the creation of a sensitive portrait of Aude, making it possible to identify the strengths and weaknesses of the destination, a new development ambition was born around the brand L'Aude, l'Âme Sud. This week, therefore, the editorial staff of L'Indépendant chose to explain why and how the practice of hiking, whether on horseback, on foot or by bike, responds to this new desire for more responsible tourism. and in line with new modes of tourist consumption, closer to nature and humans. So we went to meet Laure Barthet, ambassador of Aude, l'Âme Sud, who practices horse riding in Aude. But also, we questioned the management of the Corbières-Salanque tourist office about what this wealth of hiking offers brings. Finally, Sylvie Dorier, from the Aude cheval nature association, explains to us the importance of all hiking trails being able to be enjoyed on horseback.
Enough to provide a complete overview of this equine practice in full development thanks to the efforts of public authorities, tourism stakeholders as well as the women and men who promote the development of this outdoor activity at a time when the tourist experience thinks back.
