Likewise, in Châteauroux, around thirty demonstrators brandishing flags of the National Federation of Farmers' Unions (FNSEA) dumped straw in front of the premises of the Indre Nature association. When the employees took refuge upstairs, farmers mounted in the tractor baskets drummed against the shutters and tried to raise them, according to the FNE.

Complaints were filed in the two cases on Tuesday and will be filed on Thursday concerning the events that occurred in Gap, reported the management of the association.

“Intolerable” violence for France Nature Environnement

“This violence is intolerable in a rule of law”protested the FNE in a press release. They are committed by “individuals and organizations who believe they are above the law and commit these acts under the union flag, under the gaze of police forces who do not intervene”continued the association.

After a first week of mobilization, mainly dedicated to opposition to the proposed free trade agreement between the European Union and Mercosur, the majority alliance FNSEA-Jeunes Agriculteurs launched new actions throughout France this week. These aim more particularly “anything that hinders the lives of farmers”in particular administrations, including prefectures and water agencies.

“We work very well with certain agricultural unions, with certain producers”Antoine Gatet told AFP. “But there is another agriculture opposite, industrial, the agriculture of Mercosur, which we are fighting because it is leading us into the wall from an environmental and climatic point of view. » “We are the first to defend freedom of demonstration and expression, but it does not involve threats, violence and hate speech”he stressed. “Imagine three young environmental activists who start to do the same. We denounce the double standards which are exercised to the detriment of environmental associations”he added.
