Another scandal revealed with Dominique Strauss-Kahn and Macky Sall

The financial scandals of the old regime continue to make headlines. The magazine Cash Investigation, cited here by our colleagues from the newspaper Les Echos who relay all the following details surrounding this affair, reveals, in an episode entitled Le Grand Livre des Comptes, a payment of 1.1 million euros coming from Senegal in favor of Dominique Strauss-Kahn, former managing director of the IMF.

In the issue broadcast on October 7, 2021, dedicated to Dominique Strauss-Kahn, it is shown that the International Monetary Fund would have manipulated the debt figures of Congo-Brazzaville in 2007, shortly after the arrival of DSK at the head of the institution. This operation would have made it possible to erase 1.5 billion euros of debt. To obtain this aid, Congo’s public accounts were allegedly falsified and part of the debt concealed thanks to false declarations from the IMF, according to a 2 informant from the Sassou Nguesso government.

In 2014, Dominique Strauss-Kahn was reportedly recalled as an advisor by Sassou Nguesso to negotiate further debt relief. As a reminder, Sassou Nguesso was one of President Macky Sall’s mentors. In this same report, an IMF credit movement for the benefit of Senegal, valued at 1.1 million euros, would have been invoiced by Dominique Strauss-Kahn to the tune of 50,000 euros in 2017. It should be noted that DSK was received in February 2017 at the Presidential Palace by Macky Sall and Amadou Ba, after a previous meeting in 2016 in Congo, at the invitation of Sassou Nguesso. This collaboration would have been justified by links with the Arjil investment bank, headed by businessman Vladimir Molloff.

The former director general of the IMF, ousted from his post over a morals issue, has become a consultant for several African countries, including Senegal. Installed in Tunisia after a stint in Morocco, Dominique Strauss-Kahn was hired as an advisor by the State of Senegal to mobilize funds internationally. In October 2013, Dominique Strauss-Kahn created an investment fund with Franco-Israeli businessman Thierry Leyne, called LSK (Leyne-Strauss-Kahn), later renamed LSK and Partners. This partnership ended tragically with the suicide of Thierry Leyne.
