The telephone operator and Internet service provider Free Senegal is changing face. Now baptized Yasthe company announced on Tuesday its ambition to strengthen the quality of its coverage and offer more competitive prices.
“We will follow the recommendations of the regulator, with whom we work closely, to improve coverage and make our offers more accessible”declared Adnane Massaoud, commercial director, during a press conference in Dakar, relayed by APS. He also suggested that this name change would be accompanied by “nice surprises” for users.
This announcement comes in a tense context, after the Telecommunications and Postal Regulatory Authority (ARTP) recently pointed out irregularities among several operators. A control campaign carried out in September 2024 revealed tariff violations blatant concerns regarding communication services, SMS, mobile data and Internet offers at Sonatel, Expresso, Sirius Telecom and Free, according to the newspaper Liberation.
