Rabat – Elements of National Security and customs at the Tanger Med Port foiled, on Wednesday, an attempt at international drug and psychotropic trafficking, seizing 19,050 psychotropic tablets, hidden on board a transport truck. international transport from a European country.

According to the first elements of the investigation, the surveillance and search operations carried out on this truck made it possible to seize the psychotropic tablets, which were carefully hidden in cavities specially designed in the cabin of the vehicle, indicates a security source, noting that the investigations also led to the arrest of the driver, a 36-year-old Moroccan citizen.

The suspect was placed in police custody for the judicial investigation carried out under the supervision of the competent public prosecutor’s office, in order to identify all the people involved in this case, as well as the possible national and international ramifications of this activity. criminal, it was added.
