The scene took place this Sunday in the small town of Indre, near Nantes. After towing on the market, six activists from the National Rally wanted to have an aperitif at lunchtime in a bar. Except that the manager of the establishment refused to serve them. “Moreover, this refusal to sell follows aggressive behavior by an employee of this café towards our activists at the start of their action, because they were towing near it,” says Gauthier Bouchet on the website of the RN federation in Loire-Atlantique.
The departmental delegate recalls that “the refusal of sales to consumers is prohibited by law, constituting a criminal offense”. A complaint will therefore be filed against the bar for “discriminatory conduct”.
“Nothing to do with the fact that they are from the RN”
Contacted by our colleagues at West Francethe bar manager defended himself by indicating that the activists had “towed on the terrace” and “were talking politics” in front of his establishment. But “nothing to do with the fact that they are from the RN”, he specifies.
In the second round of the legislative elections at the beginning of July, the candidate of the left had collected more than 58% of the votes in Indre, far ahead of the candidate of the presidential majority (22%) and that of the RN (19%).
