The work of the 5th edition of the Arab Sustainable Development Week opened on Sunday at the headquarters of the General Secretariat of the Arab League in Cairo, with the participation of Morocco.

The Kingdom is represented by Mohamed Nouri, from the Moroccan embassy in Cairo, during this edition organized over four days, in collaboration with partners from the United Nations, the European Union and the World Bank.

Held under the theme “Sustainable solutions for a better future: resilience and adaptive capacity in a changing Arab world”, this event includes sessions aimed at strengthening effective partnerships with a view to giving a strong impetus to sustainable development in the region and to tangibly influence the lives of Arab citizens.

This meeting, which aspires to contribute to the construction of a resilient, equitable, stable and prosperous future for Arab countries, takes place against the backdrop of multiple challenges linked in particular to climate change, global economic challenges and geostrategic issues, factors which accentuate poverty and call for rapid and effective responses.

The objective is to create a platform for dialogue between governments, investors, banks and development agencies to promote sustainable investment.

This fifth Arab Sustainable Development Week is marked by the participation of representatives of governments, the private sector, civil society organizations, academic circles and young people engaged in the field of development.
