The rural confederation still blocks the Lidl platform in Isère

They ask guarantees against the signing of the Mercosur treaty. Since the early hours of the day, this Tuesday, November 26, the farmers of the Rural Coordination (CR) of Isère and the Rhône, block the Lidl platform in Saint-Quentin-Fallavierin northern Isère.

Trucks blocked and stopped

Their mission: block the trucks incoming and outgoing transport of non-French foodstuffs.

“We control truck loadings, but we have blocked food from foreign sources, which cannot enter or leave” explains a member of the CR Rhône-Alpes.

Around thirty people mobilized around ten tractors, for a relay which will end only when the farmers have received a visit from a state representative.

CR : “We expect firm commitments from the State”

“We are waiting for a meeting. On Mercosur, on the over-transposition of standards… We want to ensure that will exercise its right of veto on Mercosur. And we want to ensure that the announcements will be followed by actions. We need, to lift the blockage, a commitment from the State. That the Prefect undertakes on behalf of the State to bring our demands to the European level.

The situation may change from one moment to the next depending on the progress of the discussion with state services.

Note that a meeting was planned this evening at the prefecture with the new prefect of Isère, Catherine Seguin, where a representative of CR 38 must be present. But if the union will be represented, it does not wish to stop the blockage until they have obtained firm commitments from state representatives in Isère.
