“It’s not too late.” After the rejection of the finance bill (PLF) for the year 2025 in the National Assembly, the text was transmitted to the Senatewhere Michel Barnier's government has a (large) majority.
If uncertainty still hangs over the rest of the story with several possible scenarios to provide France with a budget (against the threat of a motion of censure), the PFL should be adopted at the Palais du Luxembourg, during a solemn vote on December 12.
Before convening a joint joint commission (CMP) to try to find an agreement (in Parliament) on the same version of the PLF, the MEDEF Haute-Garonne reacts to tax increases and penalizing charges for businesses.
By adding in particular the eight billion in corporate taxes, the five billion euros linked to the reduction in tax reductions, the 2.3 billion euros transferred from health insurance to complementary health insurance and therefore to companies, the 1.2 billion euros in savings on learning aid and the 800 million euros in mobility payments represent around 20 billion euros in additional taxes and charges that could be imposed on businesses. This increase corresponds to the salaries responsible for 400,000 jobs,” worries the union.
In Haute-Garonne, this estimate risks worsening the situation of thousands of businesses, “especially the smallest, already weakened by an uncertain economic situation and tough international competition”denounces MEDEF 31.
And added: “Charge reductions are not gifts given to businessesbut an investment in employment et competitiveness. They enable employers to hire, train and maintain positions in a context where every job counts.”
At a time when France is facing major structural challenges, business leaders fear a real “employment crisis”. In the event of a reduction in charges, their choice would be “simple but painful”: “create jobs or pay ever heavier charges”.
An appeal to the parliamentarians of Haute-Garonne
Concerned, the employers' organization solemnly calls on the representatives of the people to take up the issue during parliamentary debates: “It is not too late to protect jobs and businesses”she assures.
Parliamentarians still have the possibility of reorienting these measures to avoid an economic and social shock. The choice is clear: more taxes or more jobs. The companies and employees of this country deserve better than decisions that sacrifice their future,” insists the union.
Pour Pierre-Olivier Naupresident of MEDEF 31, “the industrial challenges are immense in Haute-Garonne. The path to a solid and lasting recovery is narrow. Likewise, the violent crisis affecting the building and tertiary sectors must end urgently”.
