Claire Chauffour-Rouillard recognizes this, she does not yet know Aveyron well. She sees some similarities there with Lozère, a department in which she did an internship of several months during her time at ENA, the National School of Administration. Originally from Touraine, it was mainly in the Paris region that she made her career, a stint in the services of the Ministry of the Interior before becoming secretary general of the shared resources of the prefecture of the Ile-de-France region, his last post before landing in Aveyron.
This is therefore the first time that she has held the position of prefect.
I am really delighted to join this very beautiful department, I really want to be a field prefect. By working closely, by listening and helping all the key players in this department, which I know is very committed.
It is not easy to discover the role of prefect at a time when the agricultural crisis is resurging in the countryside, even more so in a rural department like Aveyron, and where the prefecture had been targeted by the farmers of the Rural Coordination before his arrival.
It is completely understandable to come and demonstrate in front of what is a representation of the State in the department (the Prefecture). It is important that these demonstrations take place without harm to people or property, no overflow, no damage. I really want to meet the players in the agricultural world. I know they have concerns and so I want to be able to go out into the field and meet representatives of the union organizations very quickly.
Claire Chauffour-Rouillard says she has “a lot of respect for the profession of farmer”, and believes in “collective intelligence”.
