The guest of Bleu Drôme Ardèche: Julie Maurel, activist of the citizens' list “Collectif pour Novels”

While a demonstration called by an ultra-right collective is planned for Saturday November 30 in Romans-sur-Isère, a year after the death of Thomas in Crépol, around ten left-wing political movements, unions , associations are also organizing a gathering on site.

Five days before the ultra-right demonstration in Romans-sur-Isère, its organizing collective “Justice for ours” continues its actions. Saturday November 23, ten young people renamed streets and squares in the city center of Romans names of Thomas, killed a year ago in Crépol, and Nicolas, died after a shooting in Saint-Péray almost a month ago. This collective wants in particular to pay tribute to all those it describes as “victims of immigration” but a counter-rally is organized on Saturday November 30. A good dozen left-wing political organizations as well as unions and associations are organizing another demonstration so that “the ultra-right does not appropriate the history of the city, which is not theirs”. The organizers asked the prefecture to ban the demonstration of the “Justice for Ours” collective due to “discriminatory and stigmatizing remarks”. These activists fear that “the territory of Romans will become a laboratory, a demonstration site for the extreme right”.
