Our guest in ICI Matin on France Bleu Provence: Yves Davin, president of the Old Marseille Committee
Le Carré des Ecrivains in the presence of 112 authors: Saturday November 30, 2024 from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. at the Center Bourse, Marseille (1st). comiteduvieuxmarseille.net
The Old Marseille Committee aims to protect and raise awareness of Marseille's heritage. As part of its events, and to raise awareness of Marseille through all the books devoted to it, it has organized the Carré des Crivains every year since 1992 to which only authors who have written about Marseille are invited. There are 112 for the 2024 edition.
The 2024 Marseillais Prize will be presented at the inauguration of the Carré des Ecrivains, on November 30, 2024 at 3:00 p.m. by Douchka Esposito, former Disney muse, who will present both her album “Au fond du coeur”, in tribute to his father Gianni Esposito and his book Poetic Life 1996-2024 (editions Le lys Bleu).
The first edition brought together, in 1992, around fifty writers in the library of the History Museum of Marseille. This initiative, unique in its kind, received a very warm welcome from the people of Marseillais who greatly appreciated finally seeing all the writers who have written about their city brought together. The idea was launched to establish this event, both literary and heritage, which has welcomed 4,701 authors in 32 years!
