The France Alzheimer 81 association invites family caregivers to participate in a memory café on Saturday, November 30, from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m., at the Bisetto bakery in Mazamet. This event, under the theme “Finding the person behind the disease”, is intended to be a space for discussion, support and sharing intended for loved ones of people suffering from Alzheimer's disease.
Led by Morgane Fuentes, psychologist, and a volunteer from the association, this meeting will allow participants to express their feelings, ask questions and find tools to better understand and support their loved ones. The objective is also to break the isolation often felt by caregivers, by creating a caring environment where everyone can share their experience.
Access to the memory café is open to all, although registration is recommended with the France Alzheimer 81 secretariat.
This friendly moment is a great opportunity to raise awareness and support families facing the daily challenges that illness involves. The association hopes to welcome many people during this event which illustrates the importance of collective solidarity around caregivers.
