Storm Bert. A wingfoil practitioner in difficulty rescued in the English Channel

His sail, battered by the winds of storm Bert which raged on the coast this weekend, was torn during his trip to sea. On site, the sea was strong and the wind classified force 8 on the scale Beaufort (winds between 62 and 74 km/h).

The Jobourg Regional Operational Surveillance and Rescue Center (Cross) coordinated the rescue operation. The Manche firefighters deployed a light lifeboat and a victim assistance vehicle. The SNSM star was also called to the scene. She was the one who finally picked up the victim, who was then able to be taken care of.

During the day, a windsurfer was also rescued off the coast of Hermanville-sur-Mer, in Calvados.
