The last commercial premises located on Place Emile Clément Amelineau, in La Chaize-Giraud, opened on Saturday November 16, under the pretty name of “La Maison Romarin”.
It was awarded to Romain and Marie Huit, 37 and 26 years old, local entrepreneurs, who installed a cannery.
With the help from an artisanal smokehousethey cook and offer quality products and delicatessens.
Romain and Marie are of Breton origin, and from Haute-Vienne. They come from the catering industry and have been well established in the Vendée region for ten years.
They worked for two years under the Halles of Brétignolles-sur-Mer and prepared their dishes by renting kitchens and premises to acquaintances who supported them.
A nice tool
Romain specifies: “We chose the village of La Chaize-Giraud for its charm and above all for its tourist potential, in a busy area. »
“We cook, smoke and sell fish, meat, pâtés and smoked preserves. Our range is part of delicatessen, ready meals, caterers: quiche, cake, salmon, fish rubbed with Saint-Hilaire salt, smoked scallops in tartare or carpaccio, very good original products which stand out and which are mainly dedicated to gifts. »
Marie adds:
“We have a great tool to work with. Maison Romarin is the culmination of our project. The shop will be open from Wednesday to Sunday morning with sales under the Halles on Tuesday. We will open more for the Christmas holidays, then every day in July and August.”
For Mayor Jean-François Biron, “this activity complements the offering of our businesses, while promoting our region, I wish them great success”.
