Vitali Couenne East vice-champion of France of show jumping as an amateur, with Kindhis horse accomplice. At 17, the young man from Guingamp (Côtes-d'Armor) is going up a level this season. With always the same ambitions: to have fun and to win if possible.

at theCleudrain stablein Tréglamus, around fifteen riders regularly participate in show jumping competitions (CSO) in the region.

Among them, Vitali Couenne particularly shines, as an amateur. The Guingampais became vice-champion of France, in July 2024, at Le Mans, in less than 25 years. He competed in the 110 category, as the height of the obstacles to overcome (1.10 meters).

A hell of a performance, following a great 3^e place acquired at the previous Brittany championship, in Dinard.

“We have a great bond”

“I'm happy, but it's also thanks to Gentille with whom I've been competing for three years. We have a great bond, I know her well, it’s important,” observes the young man, a rider since the age of four.

Vitali and his mare had to fight hard to obtain this second place on the national podium. They faced 120 opponents in a three-day competition combining speed and agility.

“Vitali has this ability to manage stress and pressure, he has self-control and knows how to keep his cool in competition,” appreciates Fred, his dad and coach.

The latter is a professional rider, also in show jumping (category 140-145). Owner and manager of the Cleudrain stable, he regularly wins Grands Prix in Brittany. “But, at Vitali’s age, I have never had such good results,” he smiles with pride.

In competition on November 23 and 24

The young rider participated for the first time in this French championship. He doesn't intend to stop there.

“This year, I will compete in 115,” announces the business student at the CFA in Ploufragan. “I'm moving up a level, but I also tell myself that I have already won 120 events in the past. »

First meeting this weekend of November 23 and 24, at Le Mans, for a competition counting towards the French championship.

“My goal is to go flawless, but also to ride well, to have fun and to win if possible…”
