Around a hundred residents of Orgeval, in , have been without electricity for more than 24 hours. And this, while the thermometer persists in remaining stuck around 0°Cthis Friday, November 22, 2024. It is because of a tree that fell the day before, around 3 p.m., that the power no longer passes through the houses. An electric cable was torn at rue de Feucherolles at the intersection with rue de la Mare.

A first inconclusive operation

On Thursday, Enedis agents arrived immediately and began a first restoration operation. “After working all night, they managed to get the power back on,” explains Enedis. But, the installation did not hold. This morning there was still no power. »

A new test began in the morning but the lack of equipment, notably a basket, delayed everything. “This is where I am not happy,” notes the mayor, Hervé Charnallet. Weather warnings were given well in advance. Enedis had planned interventions. They should have anticipated room for maneuver bigger. »

“It’s 15 degrees here”

As soon as the tree fell, rue de Feucherolles was closed, causing some inconvenience. “I got stuck in the city center with my 4 month old baby in the car. It's shameful! », indignant Charlotte, a resident. There is no electricity at her house.

Some residents even took refuge in the Novotel.

“The priority is to be on the ground”

Many, however, complain of a lack of information from the town hall. “We have no communication except a few text messages from Enedis sent at the last moment. Of the elderly people not using social networks or the Enedis site therefore found themselves without news from any actor,” confides a local resident.

Hervé Charnallet, for his part, says he is doing his best.

“Our priority was to be on the ground. I was there with my deputies to answer the legitimate questions of Orgevalais. I went back there alone during the night and this morning. I knocked on doors and I have the phone numbers of older people. »

The town hall is working to open the community hall for “the most urgent cases and those who want to get together and warm up” and is preparing for the possibility of a future night without electricity.

Despite everything, the mayor remains hopeful that it will be “repaired by this evening”. Enedis expects a return to normal around 19h.
