Every ten minutes, a woman was killed in 2023 around the world. This is the frightening statistic established by the United Nations (UN). On Monday November 25, 2024, it will publish its report on “feminicides committed by intimate partners or family members”, on the international day for the fight against violence against women. For the occasion, gatherings are planned around the world.

In , a comprehensive law requested

Thursday, November 21, a coalition of more than sixty organizations published 140 recommendations for “a comprehensive law against sexual violence”. It provides a framework for “effective public policy to combat sexual violence” ; educational and training measures for “roll back sexism and rape culture” ; a plan to improve the “victims’ legal journey” and a catalog of measures dedicated to specific violence.

November 25 is the international day for the fight against violence against women since its creation by the United Nations in 1999. It was established in memory of the Mirabal sisters, tortured then murdered on November 25, 1960 for their commitment against the dictatorship of Dominican Republic.
