An LFI deputy sentenced for “abusive procedure” after accusing the former prefect of Tarn of late banning a demonstration

The LFI deputy, Karen Erodi and three other activists, were convicted by the court (Tarn), for “abusive procedure”, Thursday November 21, 2024. They had accused the former prefect of Tarn, Francois-Xavier Lauch, of having voluntarily delayed the ban on a demonstration in September 2023. The latter was acquitted.

François Xavier Lauch, former prefect of Tarn and current prefect of Hérault, was acquitted yesterday, Thursday November 21, 2024 by the Albi court (Tarn). He was accused of having waited until the last moment to ban a demonstration in September 2023 according to MP Karen Erodi (LFI) and three other activists.

The proceedings therefore followed the requisitions of the public prosecutor of Albi, Stéphanie Bazart.

Armand Gobad, former La France Insoumise candidate for Pampelonne town hall, Michel Massol of the CGT Retraités, Christine Martin and Karen Erodi, had filed a complaint against the prefect. They believed that the state representative had late filed an order banning a demonstration they were organizing to demand the dissolution of the far-right group Patria Albigès.

The latter are ordered to pay him a total amount of €3,000 for “abusive procedure”.
