G.pivaudran has two sites in Souillac: its historic headquarters and its second industrial unit, which accommodates the new equipment and which had already been the subject of a 3,000 m² extension in 2018. This new line will make it possible to “double our surface treatment capacity and respond to large-volume projects», explains Marc Pivaudran, president of this family business created in 1948.
Doubling of surface treatment capacities
«Our old line, which dated from the 1990s, had reached the end of its developments. With 80 tanks of 3000 liters, we will be able to vary the treatments, and we will have 12 baths to create colors, against 5 previously. We gain capacity, flexibility, and agility to meet the demands of our customers», explains Marc Pivaudran. A new perfume may require the production of “several million pieces for the launch year», aimed at European, American and Asian markets, recalls the manager.
Thanks to this investment, the company, which has around 220 employees, including 185 permanent and more than forty temporary workers, plans to hire 50 additional employees in the next three years.
Decarbonization and CSR projects
«In addition to the capacity interest, we have an environmental interest with this new equipment, since this iso-production line will save 30% water, 30% electricity, and 40% chemicals.», also underlines Marc Pivaudran.
This is not the only area of decarbonization undertaken by G.pivaudran: the company, which already uses recycled aluminum, as evidenced by the launch of a mascara for Chanel with packaging containing recycled aluminum. aluminum recycled at the start of the year, will set up a “virtuous loop” in 2025 to recycle its aluminum waste to its supplier. It also already buys 50% of green electricity (hydroelectric, solar or wind) from EDF and aims for 100% in 2026.
Finally, as part of the establishment of a wood heating network in the town of Souillac, to which it should be connected, it plans to “free ourselves from fossil fuels by 2026», as Marc Pivaudran points out. It will be the first private company in the Lot to be connected to this heat network, such networks being usually reserved for public buildings such as hospitals, nursing homes, middle and high schools.
The company, which obtained the EPV (living heritage company) label in 2020, was also selected as part of the France recovery and Territoires d'industrie system. It had achieved an exceptional turnover in 2023 of 37 million euros, and forecasts 28 million euros for 2024. It is targeting 40 million euros by 2028-2029.
