Pétanque: a good record and an unsurprising election to the committee

The general meeting of the pétanque and Provençal game committee was recently held in Meynes.

As a symbol, for its general assembly, the Gard pétanque and Provençal game committee had taken up residence in Meynes, the village of its oldest licensee: Francis Monnier, former French champion, 93 spring. Thus, between past and future, the century-old committee has undergone its transformation, like all committees, via a closed list electoral method.

Four more years for Alain Donnadieu and 544 more licenses

In this regard, the only list in the running, that of an outgoing president, Alain Donnadieu, who regretted “not having had any opponents”saw the 117 clubs present (out of 119) with 241 votes give it discharge for a new four-year lease.

In the presence of the mayor of Meynes Fabrice Pommier, this AG did not deviate from its habits. We had, via secretary Gérard Prunières, a positive moral and sporting assessment with 6,900 licenses, an increase of 544 players. We welcomed the good functioning of the new championship formula which will be renewed in 2025. And, in terms of results, we noted the great performances of the women of the Boule de Feu de Manduel.

Surplus finances

For Maurice Dolhadille, finances are green with a surplus of €37,038 for the financial year, the result of an increase in licenses and French championships much closer in 2024 (lower travel costs therefore).

For arbitration, Maxime Gabriel hopes and wishes for more candidates, while appreciating having three in training.

Among the women, for Aline Mayard, everything is going well: they are progressing in all areas, both effective and athletic.

Four young people in national detection

Finally, among young people, satisfaction for Patrice Reynaud with an increase in the numbers (+ 35) of future boules schools, good performances and four Gardois in national detection: the cadet Adel Merizi-Volkmann for the Junior group and in Espoirs, Mano Jean Boutin, Enzo Vidal and Marco Martin who returns to Gard in 2025, are summoned this weekend to .

A Gard mixed triplet Provençal game championship in 2025

After the long presentation of the awards, we will remember for 2025 the change of rules for the departmental championships of women's clubs, an unchanged license price for senior (€35) while the junior price becomes identical to senior (and increases to €15 for juniors and cadets) and the creation of a Gard mixed triplet Provençal game championship.
