the essential
Around a hundred additional classes should be closed at the next school year in Haute-Garonne. The unions are calling for a strike.

The Academic Directorate of National Education Services (DASEN) plans to close more than 100 classes at the next school year in Haute-Garonne, according to the FSU-SNUipp union.

The teaching union already considers the results of the first two months of the school year to be overwhelming: “In the months of September and October alone, there are already more than 2,020 school days that have not been replaced and students the same class have already lost several weeks of learning. The teaching teams are exhausted and are compensating as best they can for the failings of our employer by sometimes welcoming nearly 50 students per class, conditions which do not guarantee the safety of the students. students”.

Notice of strike

Faced with this situation, the FSU-SNUipp 31 and the inter-union filed a social alert on November 18. During a negotiation meeting held on November 25, DASEN recognized the extent of the difficulties, but without offering real solutions. The only measure announced: to avoid two classes remaining simultaneously without a teacher in the same school.

The union has filed a strike notice until July 4, 2025 and is calling for massive mobilization from December 5.
