The day dawns on a white backdrop in Creuse this Friday, November 22. The snow fell in the night and covered the department's fields with a small film. This is a little souvenir of the Caetano storm which blew hard during the day of Thursday, November 21. Caetano would be one of the most violent gales of the last 10 years, according to the Météo Creuse association.
Be careful if you get behind the wheel
Be careful on the roads this Friday morning: not only can it slip in places, but you could also come across obstacles around a bend. Trees fell on the tracks following the gust of wind. Emergency services carried out around forty interventions on the northern half of the department on Thursday evening.
Gusts over 100km/hour
The stations recorded gusts of more than 100 km/hour on Maupuy, in Saint-Laurent, in Genouillac. The record is officially set in Felletin with 106km/hour. However, the Météo Creuse association believes that more violent squalls could have blown over the Creuse without being recorded. On the Millevaches plateau, on the other side of our borders, a peak of 117 km/hour has been recorded.
Until 7,500 homes were deprived of electricity in Creuse.
