Villeneuve-sur-Lot. The first successful cross of the season for athletics

Around sixty athletes from Stade Villeneuvois traveled to for the 20th edition of the Cross René-Arcuset.

Stade Villeneuvois stood out with the very good performances of the youngest players. Indeed, Younès Frery won the race in the chick category with a good lead over his competitors. His friends (Lucien Jouteux, Tiago D'Oliveira and Rafael La Droitte) spared no effort. The chicks thus rank 3rd per team out of 14.

As a chick, Sixtine Chabert (1st) and Eva Devy (3rd), accompanied by Alana Gourvés and Nila Delorme made the colors of our beautiful bastide shine by placing 1st by team (out of 5).

Sacha, Tristan Barella, Kelya Lacombe, Jennifer, Benoît Gourvès, Jason Correia and Vincent Guérin, the coaches, can be proud of their young athletes, who represent the next generation.

A president proud of a management team that continues its training

As the youngest, Chloé Laurent, Manel El Guenaoui and Charlie Bironneau, are positioned in the top 20, for their first cross in this category. This is very promising for the future. Their coach Jean-Pierre Figueiredo can only be satisfied. As a cadet, Zélie Caballé, Alizé Fournel and Aurèle Guillet, whose coaches Jean-Pierre Schiefer says, they did a very good job, clearly the benefit of the internship brings them performances which will further increase, Yanis Ba Bekri, unfortunately suffering, could not show the value of his stride.

The juniors Zoé Jagueneau and Ivann Rey, coached by president Jean-Pierre Schiefer, managed their races well and reached the 3rd step of the podium, a great performance in an international race.

In the men's cross court, Tristan Barella is 3rd Espoir (17th overall), seniors Alexandre Druet and Nicolas Parrel are in the top 15 overall.
