Divock Origi back in Belgium? Why it’s not so improbable… – All football

Divock Origi is at an important crossroads in his career. As he continues to train individually at Milan, he is waiting to see what the Italian club decides regarding his future.

Divock Origiunder contract until 2026 with AC Milan, could soon become a financial burden for his club due to a legislative change in Italy.

The upcoming abolition of tax advantages for foreign athletes will considerably increase its cost for AC Milan. A definitive transfer is therefore considered, but remains subject to the financial capacity of the interested clubs.

Despite its still attractive profile on the international scene, Origi does not rule out a possible return to Belgium, according to The Latest News. Anderlecht was mentioned last summer, but these rumors turned out to be unfounded. That said, a return to the Pro League is not impossible, provided the striker accepts a significant reduction in his current salary. For many Belgian clubs, such a transfer would only be possible under very favorable economic conditions.

At the same time, Origi is also exploring other options abroad. Major League (MLS) in the United States appears to be a destination that appeals to him, unlike Saudi Arabia, which attracts less interest from him. Although offers were made from the Middle East, they failed to convince him. Origi currently favors a future in Europe, de facto limiting its alternatives.

At 29, the theoretical age of his peak as a striker, Origi seems far from his glory years, notably his Champions League triumph with Liverpool in 2019. His last competitive appearance dates back to April 2024, leaving it hanging doubts about his immediate future.
