Wednesday, November 20 at the beginning of the afternoon, farmers from the Rural Coordination of Lot-et-Garonne (47) gathered at the logistics zone of Montbatier, in Tarn-et-Garonne, to block the Intermarché logistics warehouse. 25 tractors, 30 light vehicles and 70 demonstrators blocked the entry and exit of trucks, blocking the activity of the warehouse which delivers more than 200 points of sale with fresh and ultra-fresh products in particular. Faced with this abnormal situation, where representatives of the Rural Coordination of the neighboring department carried out action without consultation with the Rural Coordination 82, the prefect of Tarn-et-Garonne ordered the evacuation of the demonstrators. More than 100 law enforcement personnel, including 60 from the Republican Security Company (CRS 84) were mobilized. At 7:30 p.m., the demonstrators left the site. Initially, they dumped and set waste on fire in the area and its access points. Due to spills on the logistics zone roundabout, between Avenue des Graves and Rue de Venise, on the RD820, the departmental road was blocked in both directions at this height and a diversion put in place. Vincent Roberti, Prefect of Tarn-et-Garonne, strongly condemned these actions which do not come from the department's agricultural unions. He recalls that dialogue with the unions of the agricultural profession in Tarn-et-Garonne is constant and that in-depth work is carried out on the demands of farmers. In this capacity, he met with the FDSEA and the JA 82 a few days ago, Madame Annie Genevard, Minister of Agriculture, Food Sovereignty and Forestry to present the local issues of the profession and respond to their difficulties.
