A fire ravaged a farm in the town of Alex, in Haute-Savoie. More than 200 goats died and the storage building was completely destroyed. Firefighters are still on site.

Haute-Savoie firefighters intervened during the night of Wednesday November 20 to Thursday November 21 for a fire on a farm. An 800 m goat farm2 located in the commune of Alex, chemin de Chantapot, completely burned down.
In all, more than 200 goats died in this fire which broke out around half past midnight. “When the firefighters arrived on site, the goat farm building was already well engulfed in flames. The fire spread to a 200 m storage building2the home managed to be saved“, explained Sdis 74.
Significant resources were deployed on site to extinguish this fire. Firefighters are still on site this Thursday morning for surveillance operations. The circumstances of this incident are not known.
