The Greta-CFA of Côtes-d’Armor launches machining training courses

Greta-CFA, a professional training organization, celebrated its 50th anniversary in October. That of Côtes-d'Armor, which has two development agencies in Saint-Brieuc and Lannion, offers machining training unique in the department. “We are the only ones to have a technical platform that allows this training because the equipment is very expensive,” explains Pascale Le Flem, president of Greta-CFA 22.

The generalist organization with a turnover of 4.5 million euros and 80 employees (half administrative staff and trainers), to which are also added 200 temporary workers, is now developing this training for the second professional “Production Technician of mechanical products” at the BTS Design of product production processes, new last school year. “These machining training courses are little known even though the needs are immense,” underlines Mireille Le Cornec, director of Greta-CFA 22. Several companies such as Lisi Aerospace, Tradi Meca or Coraxes benefit from them.

Skill development

If the organization has, in this year 2024-2025, 150 apprentices, it also provides training to 3,000 adult trainees, as part of continuing education, retraining, job search but also 'an increase in skills in a particular area. “Businesses but also communities can thus develop their employees,” continues Mireille Le Cornec. “For example, a mason can follow training as a stonemason, for building renovation work.”

80 training courses offered

“These training courses may only last a few weeks, only concerning certain modules of a longer cycle,” adds Pascale Le Flem. For foreign workers, the organization also offers French foreign language modules.

In total, Greta – CFA 22 offers 80 training courses. The organization, an emanation of National Education, uses the equipment of establishments, in particular the latter's vocational high schools, to carry out its services.
