The images of the fight, the morgue, the funeral, the pain of the families, the interrogations of the teenage accomplices who “gave up” the geolocations via social networks, the lives “ruined up”. After 35 minutes of immersion in a neighborhood marked by the death of a young person in a brawl, as still happens too often for reasons as trivial as a bad look, the spectators take turns removing their virtual reality headset in a disturbing silence.
This is because the electroshock intended by the director of the film “The Void”, Nadir Ioulain, worked with the public installed in the Colbert room of the National Assembly. A room where around a hundred people were invited by the deputy for the 5th constituency of Hauts-de-Seine Céline Calvez (Renaissance). “Fights affect all territories without exception, and as elected officials we must use new technologies as a lever to raise awareness among young people,” underlines the parliamentarian while her constituency is occasionally marked by fights – without reaching the seriousness of the facts mentioned in the film — between young people from Porte d'Asnières, Clichy and Levallois.
