“Forest Trophies”: the Department and Combs-la-Ville rewarded

The awards ceremony took place during the Congress of forest communities of Île-de- meeting in Fontainebleau. These “Île-de-France forest trophies“ were jointly organized by the Union of Forestry Communities (URCOFOR), Fibois Île-de-France and Fransylva (forest owners' union).

Of the four prizes awarded by a jury composed of 12 structures from the timber sector, two returned to Seine-et-. The Grand Prize of the jury was thus won by the Department of Seine-et-Marne (represented by its vice-president Béatrice Rucheton in charge of the Environment) for its project of private forest consolidation.

The award-winning Combs-la-Ville project

The “Awareness and Consultation” category, which rewards actions intended to raise awareness among the general public about forest and wood issues, saw the victory of the municipality of Combs-la-Ville. It was named the winner for its project to restore the ecological functions of the wooded environment and the creation of a observation trail.

Supported by numerous partners, this competition aims to promote initiatives exemplary, innovative or remarkable that can be duplicated and supported by communities or regional natural parks (PNR), in order to disseminate them widely throughout the Ile-de-France region.
