Sound No. 1 – Lantern trail, Christmas markets and local products: Moselle Christmas is launched

Moselle Christmases are events throughout the territory: from Meisenthal to via , Hombourg-Haut, and even Sarrebourg. The headliner is the Sentier des lanternes de Metz, which makes one proud the president of the departmental council, Patrick Weiten.

170,000 visitors last year. The objective will be 200,000 visitors in the years to come, after which the weather will guide us.

The lantern trail will open to the public on November 23. Then, meet every day from 5 p.m. at Square Boufflers.

Not far from the 2000 lanterns, on the Christmas market, it is the Quality MOSL artisans' chalet which will be back on the Place de la République. With in particular the products of beekeeper Julien Frizon from The Lorraine bee.

All my honeys and my derived products such as mead, nougat, some soaps and shampoos which are made with honey, propolis and beeswax.

There will be 53 producers in total, including 18 new ones. Among them, “ Ros’eli Biscuit » based in Sarreguemines.

To further develop “MOSL quality” visibility and be present in the Metz sector.

250,000 visitors from 30 different nationalities visited this chalet last year. And if you are not going to Metz, you can take advantage of the various “Christmas Counters” in the tourist offices of Bitche, Forbach, Sarreguemines, Saint-Avold or even Hombourg-Haut, Vic-sur-Seille, Sarrebourg and Phalsbourg .

In addition to the Christmas markets, events are planned this year at the Amnéville Zoo (Luminescence), at Ste Park and at the Halle Verrière de Meisenthal (The Hall of Lights).

From end-of-year celebrations to economic benefits

Overall, between the Meisenthal Christmas ball, the various Christmas markets and events, Moselle Christmases are starting to get talked about and attract people according to Patrick Weiten.

There we have now fallen into the economic fallout which was not the case at the beginning because we had to prime the pump and now we are in the economic fallout. Today, the Moselle counts among the most beautiful Christmas festivities, I'm going to be a little pretentious, in Europe, and this represents today repercussions on the local economy, on crafts, on commerce.

To make the Moselle shine even more, spots will be broadcast before and after the weekend weather forecast on Télévision. There is also a poster campaign in the metro.

Offer Moselle for Christmas

Moselle can be offered for Christmas. In any case, this is the wish of the Department which had already launched two boxes last year “Unexpected getaway in Moselle” and “Enchanted parenthesis in Moselle” worth €495 and €245. They include overnight stays in MOSL Quality-certified accommodation. In addition to that, this year, you can buy a “one-day escape to Moselle” box for €85 and €50 gift vouchers to be used in labeled restaurants.

You can find them on the internet or in tourist offices.
