Almost two months after the events, three men will be tried in immediate appearance on Thursday, November 21, suspected of having stolen a cello belonging to Ophélie Gaillard and estimated at 1.3 million euros, franceinfo learned from a source close to the file, confirming information from Le Parisien. The instrument was found by investigators, according to the same source.

The three suspects are suspected of having burglarized on the night of September 24 to 25 the home of Ophélie Gaillard who lives near Saint-Julien-en-Genevois, in Haute-Savoie. The famous French cellist has also been a professor at the Geneva High School of Music since 2014.

The suspects left the musician's home with her cello, a Goffriller from 1737, and two bows, estimated in total at 1.5 million euros. Cash and a digital tablet were also stolen. The investigation was entrusted to the gendarmes of Saint-Julien-en-Genevois. Originally from a neighboring town, the three suspects were arrested on Tuesday November 19.

In 2018, a man had already stolen the musician's cello, leaving her home located in Pantin, in Seine-Saint-Denis. The instrument was found two days later.
