Work is underway until December 2024 at Lac de Servières, in the town of Orcival (Puy-de-Dôme).
The goal: to improve reception conditions, writes the Department, which is leading the project.
A 4,000 m² reception area at the lake
The work began in September 2024 for a duration of three months. Access to the lake remains possible. Traffic is modified depending on progress. This temporarily results in reduced availability of parking spaces.
There will soon be a 4,000 m² reception area at the lake.
Optimized parking, dry toilets, pedestrian facilities
It will allow public parking in the same place, thus freeing up the use of forest tracks. This concentration will strengthen road safety, by regulating access on the RD 983.
For better landscape integration, only the main service road will be paved. Healthy trees located between the departmental road and the car park will be preserved and the parking spaces made of porous and grassy materials. The path in front of the inn will be designed for pedestrians. The revegetation of the whole should considerably enhance the site.
Optimized parking, dry toilets, pedestrian facilities, landscaping efforts so as not to distort access to the site… the development of the surroundings of this emblematic lake is intended to be global, at the service of visitors.
This site is registered as a landscape and labeled Sensitive Natural Space. Nestled in the heart of the Auvergne Volcanoes Regional Natural Park, at an altitude of 1202 meters, the lake was formed in the crater of a volcano.
Total cost of the operation: €539,319 excluding tax. The project benefits from a State grant of €250,000 as part of the France Relance plan.
