Maine-et-. “Our champions of childhood”: The Department launches a campaign on child protection professions

This is a major communication campaign which began on November 18 and is relayed throughout the department for a week and several months on bus shelters. The campaign, entitled “Our champions of childhood” will be displayed in the main municipalities of Maine-et- and will be distributed via the Department's social networks. In continuation of this sporting and Olympic year 2024, the communication campaign is focused on sport, to speak to as many people as possible, aim for performance and highlight the efforts made on a daily basis by professionals and children, to achieve a healthy and more peaceful daily life.

Three professions and career paths highlighted

The Department has chosen to highlight three champions – childhood professionals, all agents of the Department of Maine-et-Loire and volunteers to participate in this campaign. Anne-Laure, childcare assistant, Marie, protection representative and David, family assistant, support children of different ages and present varied profiles, from true vocation to recent professional reconversion.

Anne-Laure, childcare assistant at Village Saint-Exupéry in , supports babies and toddlers in important transition phases of their lives. The expert takes care of surrounding these children, often in an unstable or even dangerous situation, and supports them so that they adapt to their new environment. The job of childcare assistant is a true vocation for Anne-Laure.

Marie is a protection representative at the Choletais Departmental Solidarity House. His job consists of supporting children entrusted to
host family or living spaces. She interacts daily with different people, takes care of the well-being of the children and works in a team. None
no day is the same for Marie.

Finally, David, family assistant in Mazé-Milon, welcomes the children in their new place of life. Adaptability, listening and positivity are the main human qualities that David uses in his job, to always work in the best interests of the child. David was a business manager and became a family assistant following a career change.

A sports campaign

Sport, a bearer of values, is key in this campaign: Anne-Laure takes part in the gentleness relay, Marie helps children and their parents find the right path and David helps young people to get around obstacles. The Department, through this parallel, wishes to give a positive note to professions that are often unknown and little valued. This involves children and professionals from the Department acting as a team and concentrating their efforts on a daily basis to deal with fragile family situations.

Make the Department’s professions and actions known

Through this major campaign and in line with the Department's employer brand strategy, the general public can discover career opportunities in childhood within the Department. Whether or not you are a civil servant, whether or not you have experience in the field of children, the Department regularly recruits for these positions and is open to all types of profiles. Commitment, listening and positivity are the skills that are sought by the community for these professions. Human qualities shared by Anne-Laure, Marie and David, the three agents who volunteered to participate in the campaign and share their experience. The Department acts on a daily basis to protect children, through its Plan for children in need of protection. In the territory, there are more than 50 pediatric consultation locations available to residents, more than 5,000 approved childminders who look after children, 11 Solidarity Houses which help families, 1 website which lists the childminders available and several reception centers, homes and families recruited to support children in danger. Childcare professions are varied across the region, and recruitment is very regular in this sector as evidenced by the numerous job offers on the Department's website. For Florence Dabin, President of the Department of Maine-et-Loire, “This campaign is the subject of several months of consultation to show as many people as possible the existence of these essential professions, which are often too discreet. It is also an opportunity to make visible the many actions of the Department for Children, our priority. Through this campaign, we want to show that the Department's professionals are the best teammates for children in difficulty. »
