A few minutes before the kick-off of the clash between the French and the New Zealanders last Saturday, the Stade de France sang a magnificent Marseillaise at the top of its lungs, before being plunged into darkness for an unforgettable Kapa o Pongo (Haka) of the All Blacks illuminated by the spotlights. This Wednesday, after announcing his team composition to face Argentina on Friday, Fabien Galthié was delighted with this spectacle and is asking for more.
A show that was unanimously acclaimed. After the praise from New Zealand, it is Fabien Galthié who is delighted with such a show. Last Saturday, the Stade de France honored the clash between the XV of France and the All Blacks with first the respected New Zealand anthem and above all a Marseillaise sung at the top of their lungs. And then the light show began. The more than 80,000 spectators present in Saint-Denis were plunged into darkness, before an unforgettable haka. When Kapa 0 Pongo started, the All Blacks were illuminated by the spotlights, as were the Blues, lined up on their 40 meter line.
Four days after this work and the victory (30-29), Fabien Galthié returned to these sublime images, which he obviously appreciated. “When you've been playing rugby since the age of five in the fields with your friends and you find yourself there, facing this spectacle, it's wonderful,” relishes the French coach this Wednesday, before 'add: “And behind the staging, there is the encounter. This match which is always a knockout, an uncertainty in which we must be agile.”
“Experiencing something very strong again”
Media, players, president of the New Zealand Federation… This production was appreciated by all. And Fabien Galthié would not say no to a new show for the last test match of the XV of France during this November tour, against Argentina.
“It's addictive. Friday (against the Argentines), there will not be the haka, but I hope that we will experience something very strong again”, hopes the French coach. And the 23 who will perhaps be able to attend this show on the pitch of the Stade de France are known, since the team composition was revealed this Wednesday, with no less than four changes compared to the last match.
