Marrakech – Participants in the 4th Consultative Forum of Regional Cooperation Organizations in the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) region called, Tuesday in Marrakech, to intensify regional cooperation and promote sustainable economic integration within the OIC space.
Organized by the Islamic Center for Trade Development (ICDT), in collaboration with the Ministry of Industry and Commerce of the Kingdom of Morocco and the Islamic Development Bank Group, this event aims to strengthen coordination around various projects and programs relating to economic and commercial cooperation and partnership.
In a statement to MAP, the Director General of the Islamic Center for Trade Development (ICDT), Latifa El Bouabdellaoui highlighted the current global economic challenges, affirming that this forum is being held in a context marked by disruptions in international markets , resulting from geopolitical crises.
“It is up to us to strengthen the role of regional organizations to support the economic resilience of our member countries,” she stressed, while highlighting the importance of joint initiatives for better regional integration.
For his part, the director of the Regional Integration Department of the Islamic Development Bank Group, Kadir Basboga insisted on the importance of regional partnerships in the success of economic projects.
“This forum represents an essential platform to coordinate our efforts and explore new opportunities in trade and investment for the benefit of all member countries,” he said.
This meeting, which will continue until November 20, brings together representatives of Moroccan ministries, the OIC General Secretariat, the League of Arab States, as well as several international organizations and financial institutions.
The discussions will focus on mechanisms capable of facilitating investments and trade, while strengthening regional economic partnerships.
