Corsica on orange “wind” alert this Wednesday

Corsica is placed on orange “wind” vigilance this Wednesday, November 20. The alert is active from 8 a.m. and will remain active until 8 p.m. Authorities are calling for caution.

The island is placed on orange alert for the “wind” parameter this Wednesday, November 20.

The alert is active from 8 a.m. and will remain active until 8 p.m.

Both departments are concerned.

As a reminder, Haute-Corse was already placed on yellow alert this Tuesday, and Corsica-du-Sud will move to yellow from midnight.

According to the Météo-France bulletin, “the Libeccio gradually strengthens from Tuesday evening and during the night from Tuesday to Wednesday. It becomes stormy in the morning of tomorrow Wednesday and remains so until the evening.”

According to forecasts, “the wind gradually calms down in the evening”.

Consequently, the Corsican Community has decided to cancel its transport.

“Due to the predicted strong winds, school transport services (Via Scola) and intercity transport (Via Strada) operated by the Corsican Community will not be provided on Wednesday November 20, 2024”indicates the CdC in a press release.
