The soils were already waterlogged, and the heavy rains of recent hours have not helped. Several rivers overflowed in Pas-de-Calais this Tuesday. The Liane, the Canche, the Hem and the Aa and the Lys are on yellow alert for floods until this evening. According to the Pas-de-Calais prefecture, roads were flooded in Boulonnais but the water did not enter the houses.
“A good twenty centimeters”
In Hesdigneul-lès-Boulogne, three of the four roads providing access to the town are flooded, according to mayor Yves Hennequin. The Liana got out of her bed et “a good twenty centimeters” water covers the roads. The gardens are also flooded but the water has not entered the homes, assures the mayor of the town. Same thing a few kilometers away, in Caly where two roads were flooded, residents had to take detours.
In the Nord department, there is no no incident to report according to the prefecture, which indicates that “State services remain mobilized to monitor the weather situation”.
