This Tuesday, November 19, Olivier Goudet and Yvane Goua were summoned before the Larivot criminal court.

Justice accuses representatives of the Trop Violans association of organizing undeclared demonstrations during the health crisis in 2021.

The case had already been postponed for the first time at the request of part of the defense. This morning, the hearing took place and the decision will be rendered on January 25.

Olivier Goudet and Yvane Goua are accused of having organized demonstrations of the “Caravan of Liberty”. They also appeared for “obstruction of traffic, and refusal to give fingerprints”.

The prosecutor requested a six-month suspended prison sentence and a ban on participating in demonstrations for two years.

“We are accused of being organizers of demonstrations, we have gone from organizers to organizers”, reacted after leaving the hearing, Yvane Goua. According to her, “The case is too light, and there is no proof that they were the organizers of the demonstrations.” She also denounces a “lack of evidence on the charge of obstructing traffic”.

She adds that “this file is just a beautiful, happy mess, nothing else.” “The goal is to silence us and remove us from the landscape of Guyana,” she concludes.
