Anger of farmers: Return to the prefecture, punchy actions… CR 47 plans a big day of mobilization in

the essential
The farmers of CR 47 have planned a day of mobilization in for this Tuesday. Before probably continuing the movement outside Lot-et-Garonne.

In Lot-et-Garonne, the anger of farmers will awaken this Tuesday, with a day of mobilization in Agen. At 10 a.m., the farmers of the Lot-et-Garonne Rural Coordination (CR 47), accompanied by the hunters (read opposite), with their machines, will gather in Colayrac, at the roundabout of the Pont de Camellat. A meeting place already used last January, during the first phase of the movement in 2024.

Meeting points in the four corners of 47

The CR 47 has planned several gathering points in the four corners of the department, to then converge towards the prefecture town of 47: in Monflanquin (Gamm Vert roundabout at 8 o'clock); Laugnac (football field at 9 a.m.); Temple-sur-Lot (Gouneau roundabout at 8 o'clock); Tonneins (former pétanque court at 8 a.m.; Saint-Vincent-de-Lamontjoie (place called Bellevue at 8 a.m.); Virazeil (at Vincent Rigo at 7:30 a.m.); and Port-Sainte-Marie (at the bridge at 8 a.m. 30).

Return to the prefecture and punchy actions

The first stop of the tractor procession will be at Place Armand-Fallières, in front of the Lot-et-Garonne prefecture. The executives of the Lot-et-Garonne Rural Coordination have a scheduled interview with the prefect Daniel Barnier. “Strike” actions will also take place in key locations in Agen. As during the demonstrations at the beginning of the year, we can imagine targets related to the agricultural world (MSA, DDT, OFB, DDCSPP, Crédit Agricole, etc.).

Traffic disruptions to be expected

The agricultural mobilization will have significant consequences on traffic and parking in the Place Armand-Fallières sector, which is under construction. From Monday, November 18 at 7 p.m., parking will be prohibited on several lanes around the Place de la Préfecture. Closures and restrictions are expected on the following routes: rue Étienne-Dolet, avenue Maréchal-de – Lattre-de-Tassigny; alley of November 11, 1918; rue Montaigne; rue Montesquieu; as well as in other areas near Place Armand-Fallières. A secure pedestrian route will be marked along the Lacépède Media Library. School transport services will be maintained at usual times, with student drop-off planned on Avenue Gambetta, in front of the Hutot de la Tour hotel. The Tempobus network lines will remain operational but will be subject to diversions. Delays in schedules are to be anticipated. The Keolis delegate will inform its subscribers by SMS, both in advance and in real time.

CR 47 will export its actions outside the department

José Perez and Karine Duc, the co-presidents of CR 47, have announced it for weeks now: the continuation of the mobilization will not take place in Lot-et-Garonne, to prevent foreign agricultural products from arriving in . For the moment, no indication of the location has leaked. Rumors from the Spanish border, either in the Pyrénées-Orientales or in the Basque Country, are becoming more and more persistent even if they have been denied by the executives of the CR47. Blocking or could also be an option.

Reinforcement hunters

In solidarity with farmers, hunters from Lot-et-Garonne will join Rural Coordination 47 for the Agen mobilization day. A way to return the favor because “farmers support us every time when we mobilize,” explains Laurent Vicini, president of the Lot-et-Garonne federation. A group of them, all dressed in their orange hunting jackets, will be present at 10 a.m. in Colayrac for the first gathering of the day. “There may also be a few banners,” adds Laurent Vicini.
“We hunters represent rurality, just like farmers,” confides Laurent Vicini. Many farmers are also hunters. We support their demands and we are 100% behind them. We must be able to make a living from our profession and all these free trade agreements will kill agriculture. Farmers and hunters are linked. They allow us to go hunting on their land and we prevent pests from destroying their crops. »
