Above the RN165 in Vannes, the spectacular installation of a footbridge for cyclists and pedestrians [En images]

The bicycle-pedestrian bridge which spans the RN165, route from Sainte-Anne to Vannes, was installed during the night from Tuesday to Wednesday. A project that was both titanic and meticulous to adjust, down to the millimeter, the 20-ton, 43-meter-long structure.

Closed between 8 p.m. and 6 a.m., overnight from Tuesday to Wednesday, the RN165 gave way to construction equipment to allow the installation of the new footbridge for pedestrians and cyclists.

The footbridge, 43 meters long, will be placed on two concrete pillars on each side. These pillars are sunk more than 4 meters deep.
