During the municipal council from Teurthéville-Hague (Manche) Wednesday November 13, 2024chaired by Mayor Fabrice Hussenet, it was decided to end the rental of gîtes of the municipality from 1is January 2025.
Gîtes belonging to the municipality since 1995
The town of Teurthéville-Hague has three gîtes in the old presbytery since 1995. “Our rural lodges attract lovers of authentic tourism who want to experience a vacation away from home, but at home”, presented the former mayor, Joël Jouaux, in an article in 2013.
The tourists who rent them often come from the north of France. “By coming to our village, they are given the opportunity to discover green tourism, the principle of which is to discover our region and our hiking trails. We feel that people are looking for authenticity,” continued the mayor, who left his blue-white-red scarf to Fabrice Hussenet in 2023.
What future?
This decision follows the resignation of the agent responsible for the accommodation and the impossibility of finding a replacement. The municipal council will therefore initiate a thinking about the future of these lodges so that the buildings do not remain unoccupied.
