In order to fight against medical deserts in theYourthe Department has deployed “a 2023-2028 Health plan”, providing for the implementation of several systems.

For the Vexin, a sector particularly affected by this desertification, several actions were presented.

A new mobile office

No attending physician? Make an appointment with Doct'Eure, the mobile office on Doctolib or by telephone on 02 32 29 32 19.

This is the doctor who comes near you. Several general practitioners from the Musse hospital center in Saint-Sébastien-de-Morsent travel to the communes of Gisors, Morgny, Vesly and more recently to Hacqueville and Hébécourt for consultations.

The intervening doctor is approved for sector 1 by Health Insurance, so the consultation is reimbursed as usual.

In Gisors, a general practitioner is available every other Tuesday at the health center, route de . In Morgny, consultations take place every Wednesday at the school, 42 rue Saint-Adrien. In Vesly, they take place every other Monday, at the town hall (1 place du Carrouge).

A device which seems effective if we refer to the figures. In just over a month, from May 22 to July 3, nearly 200 consultations were carried out for 172 patients.

88 patients consulted in Morgny, 46 in Vesly and finally 31 in Gisors. 67% of appointments are made via Doctolib and 51% of patients live in Vexin Normandy.

Deployment of telemedicine

In addition to physical consultations, the Department of Eure and the Community of Communes of Vexin Normand also wish to develop telemedicine.

To do this, three tools are being developed in the region.

Intended for home nurses, the teleconsultation case is still in the testing phase and will soon be available to healthcare professionals. Within this case, six devices, three of which are connected: a dermatoscope, an otoscope, an oximeter, a stethoscope, a blood pressure monitor and a thermometer.

If two gondolas will soon be deployed in the Normandy Vexin initially, the system will subsequently be the subject of a call for projects intended for the 39 municipalities in the region. These teleconsultation booths are intended for all individuals and are generally found in pharmacies.

Third tool: the medical box. It's like an independent medical office where it is possible to consult specialists remotely: pulmonologist, dermatologist, ENT, addictologist, gastroenterologist and sports doctor.

A real medical office, the medical box has a terminal connected to more than 300 general practitioners and health professionals and is equipped with all the measuring instruments necessary for medical diagnosis and a clinical examination.

It also includes reversible air conditioning, a reception bench, a patient seat, a coat rack, a set of “vigilance” system sensors, an intercom, a digital code, a connected satellite antenna and a printer.

At the end of the consultation, the prescription is printed by the medical terminal itself.

Not yet present in the territory, the device will be the subject of a call for projects to be installed in one of the 39 municipalities in the Normandy Vexin territory.

New dental office

A new dental center is also due to open at the start of 2025 in the former premises of the Community of Communes of Vexin Normand, located at 5 rue Albert Leroy in Gisors.

Led by a general dental surgeon, oriented towards implantology and aesthetics, the project of the future office aims to be modern with a complete technical platform.

On the ground floor, the dentist plans to install an orthodontics center (three chairs) and on the 1st floor, six chairs and two operating theaters. A pediatric dentistry center (for children) is also being considered.

If the transport activity for medical reasons represents around 80% of transport, the company Taxi Dumont, already present in Gisors, will provide eight “health insurance” approved taxis.

They will transport residents of the living area or people passing through within a radius of 100 km around Gisors.

Twelve doctors as reinforcements

Since the start of the year, twelve employed doctors, including retired doctors, have come to strengthen the medical team at the Vexin health center by offering consultations and teleconsultations.

Among these twelve salaried doctors, two specialist doctors (a gastroenterologist and a cardiologist) and five general practitioners, as reinforcements, carried out 782 consultations from January 1 to July 8, 2024.

This is how the Gisors hospital center offers the population consultation slots spread from Monday to Friday. Appointments are made by Doctolib or by telephone on 02 32 27 76 25.
