Hagetmau 65 – AGS 73
The AGS traveled to Hagetmau on Saturday evening for “a match not to be lost”, in order to stay in touch in the standings.
Despite the stakes, both teams showed efficiency in attack in the first minutes. The score is changing quickly but neither team wants to fall behind. The defenses tighten up at the end of the quarter (17-17, 10th). The second quarter saw Hagetmau take the lead thanks to their captain Duthen, who ensured the scoring, but, after a time-out, the AGS fought back and took the lead by relying on a good offensive alternation. Unfortunately, a few bad offensive choices and too much permissiveness in defense allowed the locals to return to the locker room with a four-point lead (41-37, 20th). AGS starts the third quarter with an 8-0 lead and takes the lead. Hagetmau, however, held on and even got back in front. The locals, who must win this match at all costs, held on and took the lead at the end of the third quarter (49-48, 30th). In the last quarter, AGS quickly took the lead. The “blue” are in the lead, but Hagetmau always stays in contact. Despite a few small errors, the AGS showed great solidarity and finally won (65-73, 40th). This collective victory does the greatest good to President Eïto’s guys. We will have to confirm in two weeks at home against Labenne and launch a positive dynamic.
