Visit of the president of SDMIS

A complicated dialogue, leading to no response, as one of the firefighters states: “We have an emergency, we need to have a financial response today, and the president refers us to waiting for the welfare state, within a minimum of two years.” An impasse, faced with which they questioned the president as to the possibility or not of a budgetary rethinking. “We suggested changing the internal budget allocation, but we were told that the budget was good and that there was no correction to be made”.

Friday November 15, Bruno Bernard was also able to discuss with the delegates of the inter-union, but without progress once again according to one of the firefighters. “We are on the same page, we depend on a large number of people and we are left in the dark”.

“We are all out of breath”

It happens daily that the firefighters travel to the ninth arrondissement”. Understaffing which impacts the working conditions of the teams, requiring more funding, in order to be more numerous and more efficient.

Mobilizations that should not stop anytime soon

Faced with this lack of response, the Rhône firefighters say they want to continue their mobilizations and remain on indefinite strike. Trade unionists are also calling on residents and elected officials to join their mobilization.
