He is a regular at the bakery and pastry competitions that Férel (South Morbihan) has just hosted. Since November 13, 2024, Benoît Chapeau has taken over, rue du Clos Beniak, the Mie de la Roche bakery, closed since December 31, 2023.
The baker is only 24 years old and already has numerous distinctions to his credit.
Best apprentice in France
Originally from Châteaubriant (Loire-Atlantique), with a CAP in bakery in his baggage from the age of 14, Benoît Chapeau worked for years in Saint-Herblain and Orvault (Loire-Atlantique).
Passionate, the young man took numerous competitions. Finalist 2017 Best apprentice in France in bakery in Loire-Atlantique and Pays de la Loire, in 2024 he won the prize for Best butter croissant in Loire-Atlantique.
Benoît Chapeau also won 2nd prize for Best frangipane pancake in Loire-Atlantique and Pays de la Loire.
He recently participated in the Master final for best pain au chocolat and the French Cup for best pastries.
His specialty, Petit Ben cheese pie
“Here, everything will be homemade, with a specialty, Petit Ben cheese pie, all kinds of bread and pastries, croissants, pain au chocolat, pain aux raisins, apple turnovers.”
Le P'tit Ben will be open from 6 a.m. to 8 p.m. for the first month. Afterwards, schedules will be adjusted to allow for a day of rest. Two pastry chefs, two bakers, and three saleswomen currently make up the team.
